Techism IT is fully licensed and registered with the Environment Agency and GDRP ready for the processing of electronic equipment waste and hard drive recycling. Off-site hard drive destruction and recycling are available from just Â£1.00 per hard drive which includes a certificate of data destruction.

Our vehicles are fitted with live satellite tracking, which enables YOU to track your equipment to our data destruction facility giving you total peace of mind. Our aim is to become one of the UKâ€™s largest recyclers of computer equipment by offering a cost-effective, professional service throughout the UK.

Operating from our Techism IT warehouse we are able to offer a full UK recycling and data destruction service to all over the UK.
We handle the whole computer disposal and recycling process including all the paperwork for your audit trail and â€œDuty of careâ€ in the disposal of waste computer equipment.

WHAT IS WEEE?

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) is the European Community directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) which, together with the RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC, became European Law in February 2003.

The WEEE Directive set collection, recycling and recovery targets for all types of electrical goods, with a minimum rate of 4 kilograms per head of population per annum recovered for recycling by 2009.

The RoHS Directive set restrictions upon European manufacturers as to the material content of new electronic equipment placed on the market.

The symbol adopted by the European Council to represent waste electrical and electronic equipment comprised a crossed out wheelie bin with or without a single black line underneath the symbol. The black line indicates that goods have been placed on the market after 2005, when the Directive came into force. Goods without the black line were manufactured between 2002 and 2005. In such instances, these are treated as â€œhistoric WEEEâ€ and fall outside reimbursement via producer compliance schemes.
